Juniper Incense

On the edge of an old primeval forest stood a strange-looking house. The house belonged to a forest witch. Behind the house rose an old spruce. The huge giants stood still - they had seen the earth and the sky, the bitter frosts of winter, the heat of summer, the first downpours of spring and the strongest storms of autumn. But they did not fall; they never gave up. They have been here before us and will remain here after us. However, an old juniper grew in the yard. One winter, only a short time ago, the first snowstorm of winter was too strong, the wind blew the snow, wrapping the juniper in its cold grip. The roots of the juniper gave way and thus its life in the yard of this forest witch had come to an end. The witch cried bitterly for her yard juniper. But the juniper answered;

"Do not grieve for me. I have lived a long and good life protecting this courtyard. My holiness continues now in another form. I will live on even after this; in small pieces in the world of men, as they breathe my smoke into them. Bless me, shed your tears upon my body. when I am gone."
