Inked Mystiqs – As told by Kekritär, also known as Julia, the owner of the witch shop
I have walked the path of an entrepreneur and artist since my teenage years. Art, handicrafts, and nature have been my refuge during life's trials and darker moments. The path of witchcraft opened to me when I was young: breathing in the forest, the warm presence of animals, and keen senses have always been a part of me. Respect for nature and animals has always accompanied me, and it is evident in everything I do. I have always felt drawn to natural materials, stones, and everything that can be created by hand.
The story of Inked Mystiqs began six years ago with a small tattoo parlor. Over time, crystals and handicrafts were introduced, and eventually, it was time to build something bigger – a place where witchcraft, body art, and well-being could coexist. I wanted to create a concept that stands out with its emphasis on craftsmanship and its South Ostrobothnian roots. Authenticity is important to us: every product and service is born from the hands of real people, with genuine heart. We employ only women living in South Ostrobothnia, and we invite guest artists from all over Finland to our establishment.
I wanted to bring the business to Kurikka for a reason. I grew up here myself, and living differently in a small town has not been easy. I want to show today's youth, and adults too, that it's perfectly okay to be different. I wanted Kurikka to have a place where everyone is welcome to talk, explore, and be themselves. I also want to show that mainstream religions are not the only right way to live and believe. Even small towns should have room for openness and alternative paths, and everyone has the right to walk their own without fear or shame.
The online store was launched in January 2026 to complement the brick-and-mortar store and serve customers throughout Finland and soon elsewhere in the world. I want the store and the online shop to together form a world where traditions, craftsmanship, and modern witchcraft coexist harmoniously. It is important to us that everyone finds something that truly feels like their own – not mass production, but meaning.
Our selection consists of carefully chosen products for witchcraft, rituals, spiritual well-being, and altar use. Among our special products are authentic animal skulls and bones, spell bottles made by witches, and other unique handcrafted items from jewelry to decorative objects. All materials are chosen with respect for nature and animals, and each item bears the creator's unique touch.
The tattoo and piercing services, as well as the yoga studio, located within the brick-and-mortar store, bring balance to body and mind to the overall concept. Inked Mystiqs is a place where one can be inspired, strengthen their self-expression, and experience something out of the ordinary.
Although we deliver products throughout Finland, our Kurikka store remains the heart of our operations – a meeting place where mysticism and authenticity go hand in hand, and where everyone can be exactly who they are.
